I’m going to be running the Rome Marathon on 20th March to raise money for CALM. I’m really looking forward to it, though as it’s my first marathon I’m definitely nervous. My dad’s from Rome so I already know it pretty well and thought running around it for 26.2 miles will allow me to see it from a whole new perspective. Luckily, the city has an abundance of every runner’s favourite fuel, pasta!
Training has been going ok, though I am slightly behind schedule and have had a few slight knee problems. With the weather we’ve had this year runs have been tough, especially running around Hampstead Heath with snow everywhere, icy on the ground and the ponds frozen over. I ran 15 miles a few days ago, which is the furthest I have run so far, and am planning to get up to an 18 mile run this coming weekend.
Sponsor me as I need all the motivation I can get to help propel me around the cobbled streets of Rome!
