Marcia’s Marathon

On Sunday 29th April 2012, I will be competing in the first ever Milton Keynes Marathon – my third marathon.

Two weeks later, on 12th May 2012, with some of my work colleagues and friends, I will be taking part in the London2Brighton Challenge, a 100km walk, jog or run from Richmond Park to Brighton, walking through the day and overnight and hopefully finished in Brighton around lunchtime on Sunday 13th May.  I will be walking and not running this event!

I will be running and walking in memory of my brother, Mark. Last October, I lost my brother Mark.  To the outside world, he was a kind, witty and adventurous soul with a real sense of fun, although over the years he had struggled to deal with the loss of our Mum and his difficult relationship with our Dad.  I never knew he was feeling so bad and the hardest thing is wishing you could have done more to help.

Through competing in the above events I hope to increase awareness and raise vital funds for the charity CALM – see their website for more information

Any donations, no matter how small, will be really greatly received – THANK YOU!
