On 4th June 2012, Mr Luis Camacho, an IT teacher from Whitefield School set out with 6 friends to cycle from London to Denmark. The group were raising money for the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) Charity, and with the help of friends, family and
Whitefield students and staff, they have raised £3700 so far. The group cycled 550 miles over 6 days in the cold and the rain. Mr Camacho said, “it was hard work, but fun, and really worth it!”
Whitefield students took part in a competition to beat Mr. Camacho playing Pro Evo Soccer on the Playstation during breaks, lunchtimes and after school – this alone raised over
£200! The group cycled in memory of a friend, Lanfranco Gaglione who had recently passed away after spending hours planning the charity cycle ride to Denmark, but unfortunately died before it could take place.
