Keep CALM and curry on!

There are many things us men enjoy, a good curry being near the top of many a list, so when Liverpool’s Kings Dock-based Indian Restaurant East Z East approached us it didn’t take long to cement the partnership.

A curry, yesterday

Our Merseyside CALMzone co-coordinator Simon Howes explains, “I went along to the restaurant to meet the owner Kabir and his team and knew straight away this was a dream partnership.  So many men love to go out and enjoy a curry, so to link up with one of the leading Indian restaurants in the region is perfect for us to raise both money and awareness.”

The restaurant, which launched in style opposite the Echo Arena in August 2011 in Liverpool’s famous docks, with guests BBC Merseyside’s Roger Phillips and comedian Stan Boardman, has decided to donate 50p from 2 different items on it’s menu, meaning diners can raise £1 for the charity at no extra cost to themselves.

Owner Kabir said “It’s important to us that we connect with the local community and show that we a socially responsible business.  We’re big fans of the work CALM do to support men going through a tough time, so this is a simple and innovative way for us to give something back.”

So what better excuse to go and indulge in a Byriani or two??  Get on it, lads!
