2022nq is proud to support CALM and welcome the bearded beat-poet Scroobius Pip to host his iconic club night, WE.ARE.LIZARDS.
WE.ARE.LIZARDS was started in early 2011 by Pip and is a huge explosion of styles, a mash up of all things that will make you party, held together by your host and curator Scroobius Pip.
Sunday Best’s spoken word maestro’s club night makes its Manchester debut and we’re delighted he’s chosen 2022nq. On the night, as well as Scroobius Pip on the decks, he is bringing along DMC Champion Destruction who has produced tracks for Busta Rhytmes, Redman, Method Man and LL Cool J and the Push Music DJ’s who proudly label the laptop DJ’ing generation as ‘just f*cking lazy’. The night will be supported by underground clothing label, Redshift Rebels.
All door profits from the night will be handed over to CALM. The charity boasts Scroobius Pip as an ambassador and 2022nq director Jamie Scahill sits on its music board. One great big CALM love in.
2022nq has hosted a number of sell out parties in its short life span including Horse Meat Disco, Foals, Justin Robertson, Eric Duncan and Homoelectric. The basement gallery space lends itself really well for one off club nights. 2022nq director Jamie Scahill said “We’re delighted Scroobius Pip chose us to host We Are Lizards, 2022nq is ideal and we’re expecting a sell out. Supporting CALM on the night was a no brainer and we hope to raise a lot of cash for them”
