Unemployman vs The Job Application

As it’s January and I need to sort my life out, I’ve spent this week filling out job application forms – this process includes: trying to recall my GCSE grades (that B in Religious Studies is totally going to land me the admin assistant job), copying and pasting my employment history (thus ruining the format of the little boxes of the form, which, for some reason is a little upsetting), and staring at the ceiling, thinking of ways to describe why I’m not boring and incompetent in 500 words or less (still working on that one).

  2. This sums up my life at the moment, I’m applying for jobs I am completely passionless about, but I have to because unless you work you’re scum and have no money.

  3. been exactly here for 4 years now. Living in my hometown aged 42. I don’t claim because “foreign girlfriend” earns more than 17k.
I spend my time helping people paint houses, change light fittings, ….. simple stuff. Generally nothing to do with my electronics & computing degree. thou I do hobby type stuff with mp3 players, raspberry pi, soldering, car servicing… and loadsa Linux, php, python, y’know, just to keep the skills. I rarely get paid more than lunch and a coffee.

Do you know anyone who wants their HIFI fixed, or a home server/media centre?

If a few of the jobs I applied for were a little more helpful…., a reply would be nice, feedback would be beneficial. I honestly and genuinely apply for ~3 jobs a day, online applications via agencies, and browsing websites of businesses in 40 mile radius found on google maps.
Not much on offer around here. I should move, but that decision could be played out on a few webpages.
My best friend thinks I should apply to be a fireman..? helpful.
