Jobs For The Boys
Ben Stroud - 16 July 2010
"Male graduates are finding it harder and harder to find meaningful work post-university. This is a pretty shocking statistic, and a snapshot of a society that seems more and more to be failing the young men that it is so quick to demonise as the source of all its ills."

Unvarnished or unfair?

Getting the better of anxiety
Mark Hendy - 12 April 2010
I presumed for years that I was simply a nervous person. I was aware that anxiety is a part of life – everyone experiences it, right? The feeling you have before you take an exam, or have to make an important phone call. The slight dizziness or butterflies before going on a date. Your heart beat speeds up, you get the sweats – you get nervous. But then the event happens, and you get through it.

Martin Cordiner - 9 Mar 2010
"These magazines sell a lifestyle with considerable vigour but refuse to accept that said lifestyle may have unforeseen negative effects on men. Yes, men. Amidst the usual furore about the objectification of women there is STILL no real talk of the restrictive box these magazines put men into, and the pressure and confusion of not conforming."

Tom Sawbridge
10 tips to turning things round after a fixed term exclusion or permanent exclusion...
Britain’s young and excluded: jumped or pushed?
Tom Sawbridge
This student and others argue the school is ‘against them’. In one sense they’re right: there is a point at which the Headteacher makes the executive decision they want a student out. Headteachers then build up evidence to support their case and put it in front of Governors who decide to uphold or reject the permanent exclusion of a student.
Exclusion - A Boys Problem...
Tom Sawbridge
Boys find themselves criticised at every step and their improvements not recognised; one student summarised his problems in school – “I get in trouble no matter what; trouble just seems to follow me around the school.” Many feel they are at the whim of their teacher’s perceptions; in such an unfair world, some boys do not feel responsible for and in control of their own destiny.
No to School. Yes to Education.
Tom Sawbridge
There are alternative centres of mainstream education where you can get almost as many GCSEs as at mainstream schools. And it’s in an environment which is more relaxed and not full of rules.

Surviving at 15
D
Its only now when I sit back and realise the importance of talking when you have a problem, I am 15, and a father of a little girl, and beginning to think my life is settling. But that hasn't happened on it's own, it's been through the help of other people, if I hadn't accepted the help of others then I probably wouldn't be who I am now.
