Worried about someone else?
useful sites
We've put in lots of links to organisations providing specific help, but there are some organisations out there who can provide help and information about a range of issues. Here are some of them:-
TheSite
Povides factsheets and articles on all the key issues facing young people including: sex and relationships; drinking and drugs; work and study; housing, legal and finances; and health and wellbeing.
Get Connected
Get Connected is a free, UK wide, email and telephone helpline that finds young people the best help whatever the problem.
The helpline workers listen to what you need to sort out, explain the options you have, and then make suggestions of services where you can get the best help. Get Connected has access to information on thousands of services, both locally and nationally.
If you have contacted Get Connected by phone, the helpline worker can then provide a free connection to the service you have chosen, or can text important information to your mobile.
MIND
Have some really very useful factsheets if you or someone you know is having a hard time holding on, wants to find out about the antidepressants they're taking or needs to know more about whats affecting them.
There4me
If you've got worries or need some advice, There4me.com can help. The site is for all 12-16 year-olds living in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands. It's to help you find solutions to your problems.
There's on screen advice about all sorts of things...bullying, relationships, exams, drugs, difficulties at home, to name just a few. Or you can send an e-letter to Sam, our agony aunt.
If you'd prefer a confidential private session, you can talk 1-2-1 in 'real time' with an NSPCC adviser, or e-mail for reply within 24 hours. You don't have to say who you are - you stay in control.
Kooth.com
Kooth.com is a website where you can access confidential counselling online. You have to live in some specific areas of the North West of England to register but if you do you can get some help support and advice...
