Kicking against the pricks – CALM Mixtape #1

When CALM got in touch with Kicking Against the Pricks magazine, we knew their taste in new music would be pretty spot on. So here comes your first in a series of mixtapes from Daniel Dylan Wray, editor of Kicking Against The Pricks. If this ain’t the soundtrack to your life, send yours in and if we like it we’ll feature it on the website.

We asked Daniel why he was into CALM and a bit more about the magazine:

Founded in July 2010. Kicking Against The Pricks is an on-line music, film and alternative culture publication. We release on-line issues, acting much like an on-line magazine with issues coming out every two weeks. We’re teaming up with CALM for the very simple reason that it’s a most worthy and significant cause. In times of uncertainty and austerity, depression and suicidal feelings are no doubt more likely to manifest themselves. We here at KATP are great believers in the healing powers of art, especially music. So, by offering a monthly mix of all the latest and often unreleased music from that particular month, it simply offers another platform for exposure and gives people the chance or possibility to make a connection or relationship with artists or songs. Or at the very least, it’s a way to kill thirty minutes!

See www.kickingagainstthepricks.org for more of the good stuff.
