Thirty One songs

Monday 12th March 2012 saw the release of the Thirty One album!

It is a collection of songs by Manchester artists to raise money for CALM.

EVEN BEFORE the album was even released, Thirty One sales achieved 10% physical sales (500) plus digital sales on pre-order with 25% of people paying £20 or £31 for physical and digital copies which demonstrated people were buying to support CALM, not only for the music!

Hats off to Esther O’Callaghan, putting her heart and soul into promoting the album, she has the target of raising a whooping sum of £50,000 for CALM!

CALM would like to massively thank Esther, Danny Keehan, her project manager, and her partner James Key who walked through Manchester City Centre, Chorlton, Fallowfield, including all of the Trafford and South Manchester Libraries, to get shops, bars, everyone who would put up a poster and stock the CD for week of the release. Without whom Thirty One Songs would definitely not be where it is now!

On 12th March BBC Radio 5 LIVE streamed a half hour music review with Victoria Derbyshire featuring Jeremy and Jon of Everything Everything with Dave Haslam. Then, on the 17th March, Esther saw The Travelling Band busk live on Market Street receive a great and positive response!

CALM and Esther herself would like to personally thank all the volunteers who gave a hand promoting and selling the album, who have done an “amazing, amazing job.”

With her motto “If you expect to succeed, you will succeed!” she has a lot more planned for the Thirty One album promotion.

April’s Snowbombing event in Mayrhofen, Austria will see our Thirty One group at the festival with the official RoadTrip soundtrack.

A Thirty One Stage will then be put up at Eurocultured Festival in Manchester on 4th June, with the confirmed attendance of; Jim Noir; Silverclub; From the Kites of San Quentin; Vieka; and Jasper Rhodonite!

With the album receiving rave reviews from all side, CALM started a collection:

“Bloody hell, it’s bloody good” – Spencer Robertshaw in Pennyblackmusic.co.uk,

“Manchester…best ever collection” – musicdash.co.uk,

“Elegantly designed” – CreativeReview

“Brings together some of the finest bands from around Manchester” – Umbro blog

Thirty One has also been reviewed and mentioned on shows, on local and national radio, and in major newspapers, including Mail on Sunday and The Guardian.
