‘Every Man’ illustrations: Fashion

‘Every Man’ illustrations

by Chris Sav

When I used to be in a metal band I had long hair, I would wear nothing but black band t-shirts, black jeans and steel cap boots. I didn’t feel complete without the emblem of my favourite Swedish Death Metal band adorning my rather limited array of garments. Nowadays my palette is more varied, and having omitted any form of text from my clothes, (even those relating to Finnish Black Metal bands) I wonder about when the cross-over took place. Maybe it was when I turned up to a gig in a cardigan and someone said, ‘Mate, this ain’t a library…’
Of course, now I cringe at the fashion decisions I made back then, and I imagine my future self is doing the same about me now.
