Major & upcoming artists from Manchester’s Drum and Bass scene are coming together for a charity fundraiser to mark the official launch of new labels NB Audio and Hocus Pocus Records. Taking place at Manchester’s celebrated music venue Sound Control on Bank Holiday Sunday May 5th 2013, this unique event is presented by Manchester-based dLo Productions alongside the new record labels to raise money for CALM.
NB Audio (NBA) is a new Manchester-based, UK alternative electronica dance label, representing UK and international independent artists from across the Drum & Bass, Dub Step and Techno genres. The label provides an in depth range of services to help niche, alternative artists gain recognition.
Hocus Pocus Records are a new label created by Drum & Bass/Jungle producers Dawn Raid. Led by ADT and Kingsize, the duo has secured releases on acclaimed and established labels since they formed in 2006, producing remixes with renowned artists. This has created a strong base for the collective to provide their growing fan base with collaborations and remixes straight from the artists who have helped to produce them.
Artists from both labels are set to perform, with Dawn Raid & BIC headlining for Hocus Pocus, as well as Jinx bsb K-Jah from Dread Recordings. NBA headliners Rolaz with Kiara and Rob Dot, and Nian Dub are joined by Snap Shot, the newly-formed musical collaboration between established music artists Mark XTC and Microcosm. This UK DJ / Producer duo will perform tracks from their debut EP ‘Dark Shadow’, released on NB Audio on April 29th 2013. With other artists on the night; Eastland, Fortune, Semiotix, DJ Marshall with Pari, Untouchable Djai, McDubbin,
Guest DJ’s who are also performing on the event include; drum & bass veteran; DJ Sappo, and renowned Manchester-based production outfit North Base.
This innovative Drum and Bass ‘Sound Clash’ event follows the huge success of the dLo launch event held last July at Manchester’s legendary Dry Live bar, raising over £1,000 for CALM.
All profits from NBA’s Vs Hocus Pocus official launch event will go to CALM.
Sample provider Loopmasters will also be giving away 500MB of music sample packs and a free iPhone and iPad app to all guests.
