I’ve always been awful at maths, and when I’m called upon to solve a complex mathematical problem (ie. giving the right change) I start to panic and sweat a little. Recently, I’ve been thinking about how numbers can be quite comforting in the sense that they are so absolutely certain – there’s no room for self doubt and uncertainty. There was a lovely little programme on Radio 4 at the weekend about this very thing . Enjoy with a cup of tea and a slice of pi, (that was terrible, my sincere apologies).
