TRASH, a streetwear clothing brand, has selected CALM as its charity collaboration of the year. The collaboration will see TRASH support CALM’s Campaign Against Living Miserably by creating a limited edition unisex T-Shirt to raise money.
Suicide is the biggest single killer of young men in the UK, accounting for the death of more young men in this country than road death, murder and HIV/AIDS combined. TRASH aims to support CALM in its mission to offer immediate support to men who are down or in a crisis, challenge a culture that prevents men seeking help when they need it and to break down stigmas associated with mental health that prevent young men talking about their problems.
Together, TRASH wants to help change attitudes so that men feel able to seek help and change cultural mindsets surrounding men talking about their problems, spreading the message that seeking help is an act of bravery, not a sign of weakness. Combining CALM’s key objective of approaching this serious issue with a positive, upbeat and humorous manner and TRASH’s unique approach to streetwear, TRASH is launching a special CALM T-Shirt. The “CALM DES F**K DOWN” parody tee will be available to buy online at www.original-trash.com and in major retailers across the UK.
Parody tees have become a staple look on the high street and favourites of many celebrities including Rihanna and Beyonce. Simple, eye-catching and funny – this trend is a great way to get a deeper message across to the fashion buying public and TRASH has done exactly that.
Richard, Director of TRASH, says “Everyone in our office has been directly affected by male suicide and it’s a cause we all feel strongly about supporting. We are honoured to work with such an amazing charity and together I believe we can help raise awareness.”
Available to buy now from www.original-trash.com and major retailers across the UK priced at £20. All profits from sales will be donated to CALM.
