I don’t know how, but at some point ITV 2’s Dinner Date became a great source of comfort for me. The awkwardness was reassuring and seemed to help me write cover letters for jobs I didn’t particularly want. Dinner Date has since been replaced by The Real Housewives of Beverley Hills, and now my evenings have been turned upside down. So here is a little tribute to a show that will be greatly missed, for it was a staple that fed my existential crisis with lulls in conversation and ruined desserts.
