CALM are pleased to have been involved in a BBC Panorama documentary about male suicide, by journalist Simon Jack, due for broadcast on April 13th BBC 1 at 8.30pm.
Having lost his father to suicide, Simon Jack wanted to look further into the rising issue of male suicide in this country and the problems arising from a culture where men are expected to be strong at all times, where asking for help is seen as a sign of weakness.
Suicide is now the single biggest killer of men between 20 – 45 in the UK, with 78% of all suicides every year being male, so CALM were delighted to be involved in a programme tackling the topic of male suicide head on.
Panorama will be broadcast on Monday April 13th at 8.30pm on BBC 1.
