Over 50 Coronation Street Cast and Crew will take to the streets of Manchester on Sunday 10th May for Morrison’s Great Manchester Run in memory of Mike Curtis, our much loved Friend and Colleague. Mike took his own life in January of this year and he has left a massive gap in Weatherfield. Just weeks after we lost Mike was the launch of CALM’s BBC Lifeline Appeal with Professor Green. If only Mike had gotten a chance to see this and had known about CALM and the fantastic work they do!
CALM has since had an enormous impact on everybody at Coronation Street, from having the “Propamanda” bus stop poster on the Street and posters/leaflets everywhere around work to a phenomenal number of people, both Cast and Crew, wanting to pay tribute to Mike, and CALM, by running 10K in Manchester. Many taking part have never even run before so it really is testament to Mike and to how much he is loved and missed!
Even Olympic champion Jessica Ennis-Hill visited the set to show support for the efforts to raise both awareness and funds for CALM.
Our dedication to CALM is something we want to continue with after the race as well, and we have made CALM our chosen charity. The race is the first step from us to ensure that Mike is never forgotten.
Please help us to raise money for CALM, a charity that is very close to all of our hearts.

See you at the finish line where we will be raising a glass or 2 to our mate Mike Curtis!
