Jack & Chris have a chat in a cab

2017 was packed with some huge CALM moments: marathons, festivals, epic adventures, and tear-infused bottled water. Yep, to mark World Mental Health Day in October, we pulled a prank on the British public with our partners in crime Topman, photographer Rankin, and heart-throb star of Love Island, Chris Hughes.

L’Eau de Chris – bottled mineral water infused with a Chris Hughes tear – was launched and quickly revealed to be ludicrous. Ludicrous that men bottle up their emotions every single day. And ludicrous that suicide remains the single biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK.

Some of the reactions to our #DontBottleItUp prank were, well, brilliant. Check out the top ones here. But we wanted the reaction of the man himself, so we put Chris in a cab with fellow CALM ambassador Jack Rooke to discuss the campaign, how to keep spirits high, and cold water swimming. Watch the footage below.

CALM’s free, confidential, and anonymous helpline and webchat are open every day, 5pm – midnight. If you need support, or know someone that might, more information is available here.
