It’s a new year, if you hadn’t already noticed. Whether you’re looking for a way to fulfil a New Year’s resolution or goal, looking for a challenge, or just want to kick off the year with a feel-good feeling, here’s some stuff you can do to support CALM in 2020.
1. Do something you love
If you’re umming and ahhing over a New Year’s goal, fancy a challenge, or want to remember a loved one, do it for CALM. In 2018, CALM’s helpline and webchat directly prevented 675 suicides, a feat only made possible by #TeamCALM’s dedication and determination. Join them.
There’s no end of ways you can get involved – from running a marathon, to dirt-biking across the Sahara. The sky’s the limit. And it doesn’t have to be sporty, there’s all sorts you can get involved with. Hosting or attending gigs, comedy nights and pub quizzes, is a great ways to do your thing for CALM. Take Bongo’s Bingo – they’re holding a Bingo bonanza in support of CALM. Blues more your bag? The Walhamstow Blues Bash is an evening of authentic blues in aid of CALM.
Volunteering for CALM is different. Spreading the CALM message at gigs, theatre productions, festivals and a whole host of other places, our volunteers make our life-saving services possible.
3. Visit the CALM Store
There’s books, music, jewellery, cosmetics and loads more, from retailers including To Be Frank and Flower Up. There really is something for everyone, so whatever your need we’ve got you covered – and a percentage of all proceeds go towards funding CALM’s life-saving services.
4. Join the CALM newsletter
Keep up to date with our campaigns, updates and activities. Get a heads up on events and stuff you can get involved with, and read some top-quality pieces by CALM ambassadors and supporters.
5. Spread the word
Break up the selfies and dog photos on your social feed with a little bit of CALM. Follow us on social media, and share the CALM message far and wide so we can reach more people than ever in 2020.
