Let’s be honest, this isn’t how we saw the London 10K going…
But hey, life’s like that. So we’re leaning in and taking the Virtual Asics London 10K online. On 2 August 2020, Team CALM are turning the streets orange.
We’re going all out to make the London 10K take-over as CALM as we can. That means pre-race pep talks from some familiar faces (including funny man and CALM ambassador Seann Walsh and Danny from McFly), inspirational playlists, next-level race day entertainment, and a warm fuzzy feeling for supporting CALM’s life-saving services.
Why? Cos running’s important. It’s not all about the miles run, or the money raised, it’s about getting outside and feeling part of something. And while you may have been getting the runs in, what you’re probably missing is the connection from meeting your fellow runners at run clubs and races; having a chin wag, moaning about the weather – you know, the important stuff.
And there’s another reason why this is so important – as our CEO Simon says: “In these utterly weird times CALM are supporting more people than ever. Events like the Virtual Asics London 10K mean we can continue to be there for whoever needs us, no matter what.”
So get your running shoes on and test that internet connection. Take on the Virtual London 10K and support CALM’s life-saving services when they’re needed most – the CALM helpline answered 34,172 calls and chats and directly prevented 148 suicides during the first 3 months of lockdown in the UK.
Help us to continue to be there for whoever needs us, no matter what, by joining #TeamCALM for a 10K like no other – and have a proper good time too.
