CALM’s gaming partners

CALM’s gaming partners

By doing it for CALM these games industry legends are part of the very best multiplayer. The most kick-ass team there is. They are gaming against living miserably.

Electronic Arts

EA have supported CALM across the board from our own kit to fundraising to in-game signage.

In support of Loneliness Awareness Week, EA joined with UK Government and CALM to launch the #LetsTalkLoneliness campaign. The campaign aims to help gamers find resources and support to cope with loneliness during these weird times.

You can also play FIFA as CALM after EA added bespoke CALM kits, a new crest, and stadium dressing to proudly support our campaign against living miserably and give players the chance to play in the stylish CALM jersey. Special FUT Kits, supporter signs and LED boards all carry our messages about tackling the stigma around suicide and mental health. Read more about it HERE.

Nintendo

Nintendo helped us pull off an awesome Lock In which had huge reach, was a great fundraiser and lots of fun for viewers during Lockdown.

The CALM Lock In: Mario Kart edition provided an evening of
free entertainment for the nation to enjoy while in isolation,
with big names including Normal People’s Daisy Edgar
Jones and Paul Mescal and big laughs to lift everyone’s
spirits and spread the word about CALM’s lifesaving services.
The Mario Kart championship races were played on Nintendo Switch provided by Nintendo. The races were live streamed on Twitch and Instagram Live, allowing fans and followers to tune in and support from home.

Codemasters

After working with Codemasters on the legendary DIRT 5, you can now race in a CALM branded car.  As part of DIRT 5’s Update 2.00, players receive a bespoke CALM liveried Porsche 924 Carrera GTS Rallye. Driving the message ‘Got Your Back, No Matter What’ the car is a reminder that there’s always someone out there ready to listen and offer help and advice.

“We’re proud to support CALM with this beautiful free livery, and we hope it reminds our racing community of the need to discuss mental health and that there is always someone available to listen,” says Robert Karp, DIRT 5 Development Director at Codemasters.

Ukie & Ask About Games

Gaming at CALM got a turbo boost when our mates over at UKIE and Ask About Games got in touch about doing a campaign together. We both shared the belief that talking and staying connected – especially during these weird times – was the important thing you could do. So our The World Is On Pause campaign was born – all about keeping people connected through the power of gaming.

CALM also supported Ukie’s PLAY&TALK Weekend during National Loneliness Awareness Week. The ask was simple: find one hour over the weekend with your mates or family, choose a game to play and then have a chat. Easy, yes, but also really important.

Taming Gaming

Taming Gaming started the List of Lists as a way of caring for kids who love games. But it’s something that has kept growing and has now evolved into an awesome asset for all gamers. There are over 500 games from the super popular to the relatively unknown, curated into thoughtful and unusual lists.

These cover themes such as Hope through play (try this list for games that leave you feeling uplifted) and Space for grief (really helpful if you’re looking for games that can provide a helpful space in which to process, consider and understand grieving). And as part of the PLAY&TALK Weekend they developed the list Ease Loneliness full of games aimed to reduce feelings of isolation by getting people to talk.

#TeamCALM

We are so bloody chuffed to have support from so many Game industry legends. Shout out to First Touch Games and Miniclip for their support – as well as the runners at Sport’s Interactive for fundraising for CALM. Immense.

Inspired by these legends and have plans for yourself or your business to be part of CALM’s Gaming community? Perhaps you develop games and want to include CALM in game?
