CALM have been selected for the second year running as the BMW PGA Championship charity partner. The event takes place at the prestigious Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey from 12 - 17 September.

VOLUNTEER FAQS

A member of the Team will be in touch no later than 31 July confirming your shift date and time. We will use the email address provided in your application form.

We will do our best to place you in the same shift, provided you include your company name or list the names of people you would like to volunteer with in your application form. The shifts do fill up and are allocated on a first come first served basis, so we cannot always guarantee this.

Applications will close on 28 July, or sooner if shifts reach capacity. Shifts are allocated on a first come first served basis.

You might be asked to help with any of the following:

  • Signing people up for the Mega Putt or Chipping Challenge in the Event Village

  • Taking donations

  • Talking about CALM and our work

  • Handing out CALM materials

You will receive an email from volunteer@thecalmzone.net if a shift becomes available. Unfortunately, if you don’t hear from us by 7 August, we have been unsuccessful in finding you a spot.

You will receive a full written briefing document from CALM ahead of the event, including detailed information about how to talk about what we do. When you arrive, you will be given a briefing by our CALM Event Manager, who will show you how the activations work and will be around all day to help or answer any questions. CALM staff will also be working alongside you at all times.

If your company can’t cover it, CALM is able to reimburse you for a return train fare from London Waterloo to Virginia Water train station. Details on how to claim expenses will be provided in your volunteer briefing. We will also provide you with a complimentary food voucher when you arrive.

Once your shift finishes, you should be able to enjoy some of the golf and explore the Event Village.

You should travel by train as there is no parking. You need to get to Virginia Water rail station. It's a 1 hour direct train from London Waterloo to Virginia Water, followed by a free shuttle bus.

There is no parking at the event, please use public transport links.

A CALM branded t-shirt, food and drink at the event and the chance to watch some golf and enjoy the fun! All whilst helping us to save lives.

You need to be 18 years old on the date of volunteering.
