Featured writer

Jack Rooke is a stand-up poet and radio presenter. He is the editor of Roundhouse Radio’s flagship magazine show, RoundUp, and has created work for The Independent, The Guardian and Channel 4.

Jack makes up one-sixth of the Early Doors performance collective and is an ambassador for both CALM and The Roundhouse.

Jack’s material explores everything from the quirks of bereavement to the fear of a testicular cancer check, employing humour to hopefully breakdown the awkward barriers many of us have in talking about more personal matters.

He is also the co-founder of the Save The Male showcase – a comedy, music and poetry night aiming to raise awareness of CALM and increase young peoples engagement with creative expression.

This summer he will be performing at Brainchild, The Big Noise, Camp Bestival, The PBH Edinburgh Fringe and compering the Ampitheatre stage at Bestival.
