Ricky’s in a much better place now, but wants to show up for anyone who might be feeling similar. He knows the difference talking makes, so he’s been speaking about his own experience to help inspire other people to do the same.
“It’s been a very tough time for people recently. There’s been Covid and the cost of living and people have felt very frustrated. There’s no better time for us to be banging the drum about mental health, because it’s been a hard time for everyone.
“I’ve been there and got the t-shirt - it’s well documented what happened to me. I almost wasn’t here and I want to help people who are in the same boat. The thing with mental health is nobody wants to admit they’re struggling, but it can feel as bad as any disease out there. Get it off your chest and don’t be too proud to admit it. Talking will be the best thing you’ve ever done.”
