LEGAL STUFF
This privacy notice explains how the Mind Ease website and app collect and use your personal data.
Our contact details
The Mind Ease app is owned and operated by the Campaign Against Living Miserably, a Charity registered in England and Wales (1110621) and Scotland (SC044347), with its registered address at 5 Wootton Street, London, SE1 8TG.

What data we collect, how we use it and the lawful basis for processing it
The app collects anonymous analytics data about your usage to improve the app. Consent can be withdrawn at any time via the app profile section.
The app collects a username (required) at onboarding. This can be changed but not deleted.
The app collects an email address (optional) at onboarding for marketing purposes. Consent to marketing emails can be withdrawn at any time via the app profile section, or by unsubscribing via a marketing email link. You can also delete your email address in the app profile section, which will unsubscribe you from marketing emails.
The app collects basic app usage information about a user, which is used for email marketing segmentation (e.g. first used, last used, number of times used).
The journaling information you record in the app is stored only locally on your device. You can delete this data yourself or uninstall the app, which will also remove the data from your device.
If you want to delete your email record, you must email dpo@thecalmzone.net.
Who do we share your data with?
The Mind Ease App utilises cloud-based software providers, such as Amazon Web Services, to design and host the application.
If you sign up for any of our email campaigns, your email address will be added to our CRM database.
Do we transfer your personal data outside of the United Kingdom?
Yes, your personal data will be transferred outside of the United Kingdom, as the cloud-based software providers host their data in the United States, which is known as a “third country”. We will only store or transfer personal data in or to countries deemed to provide adequate protection for personal data.
How do we store your personal data?
The security of your personal data is essential to us, and to protect your data, we take several necessary measures, including the following:
Limiting access to your personal data to those employees, agents, contractors, and other third parties with a legitimate need to know and ensuring that they are subject to duties of confidentiality.
Procedures for dealing with data breaches (the accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of, or access to, your personal data), including notifying you and/or the Information Commissioner’s Office where we are legally required.
How long will we retain your personal data?
We will retain your registration until you request its deletion.
If you have signed up to receive CALM marketing messages, we will retain your email address until you unsubscribe.
What are your individual rights?
Under UK data protection law, you have these rights, including:
The Right of Access. You have the right to request copies of your personal information from us.
The Right to Rectification. You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
