Support Your Mates this World Cup

Showing up for a mate isn’t always easy. But you don’t have to do it alone. Our Conversation Coach can help you find the words.

In fact, even though 72% of people say they would do anything to save a friend, only 1 in 6 currently have the confidence to ask a mate if they’re feeling suicidal, with over a third of people worrying that asking the question will make things worse.

That’s why we’re here to show that being there for a mate doesn’t mean doing it alone - our Conversation Coach can help you find the words.

It’s an interactive conversation guide created by mental health experts and it’s loaded with real life scenarios and practical support to help you show up for the people you care about.

The World Cup might just be the perfect time too…

Our research shows that nearly a third of fans find it easier to start difficult conversations with mates around mental health and suicide prevention during major tournaments.

The message is simple: 1 in 4 of us will have suicidal thoughts in our lifetimes, 4 in 4 of us can check in on our mates.

"It was so stressful cos I’m standing there throughout the day thinking ‘what do I do?’ But when you know what the right thing to say [...] then you know how to approach it. I’m so glad I had that conversation."

"I really appreciated him taking that step to ask me... because I was ready to break."
