Fundraising tips for your event day

SHARE REGULAR UPDATES DURING YOUR CHALLENGE

Whether it's a full on Instagram Story series documenting the entire day, or a couple of posts when you get the chance, simply posting updates about your challenge (with a link to your fundraising page) can have a big impact on boosting donations.

Here are few post ideas to keep your supporters up-to-date:

• Getting your kit ready the night before
• Travelling to the start line
• Telling them how it's going during any breaks you have
• Asking someone else to post updates for you - for example, if they're tracking you on an event's app
• Finish line selfie...

You did it! You crossed the finish line! Post a selfie on your social media (don't forget the all-important link to your fundraising page) to celebrate your amazing achievement.

SET A TARGET TO RAISE ON THE DAY

Setting a target to reach on event day is a great way to encourage your supporters to donate and motivate you to keep on sharing - it could be about reaching a certain amount, or it could be about reaching a % of your target.

Share updates as you reach milestones and give a shoutout to thank the people who helped your reach it.

Hit your target before your event? Amazing job! Why not push yourself even further and try to see how far over it you can get. Or, if you're feeling really ambitious, you could even increase your target.

KEEP ASKING AFTER EVENT DAY

Event day is done! But that doesn't mean fundraising is. Lots of our fundraisers still receive donations in the weeks after their event, as there can be lots of reasons people don't donate on the day, like simply just getting distracted or needing to wait to pay day.

Don't be afraid to keep talking about your challenge after it's over, and reminding people who've said they'll sponsor you to if they haven't already. Pop them a message to tell them how your recovery is going and how you found the day to see if they're still able to donate.
