Evelyn
Didn't get to celebrate her 16th birthday
Our daughter Evelyn took her own life when she was just 15 years old, a month before her 16th birthday. In the last few years of Evelyn's life, she started to struggle with her mental health but she didn't want it to define her. There were some really challenging times but good times amongst it too: including long walks in the countryside, bargain hunting in charity shops. There were family snowball fights and Evelyn was very competitive at card & board games.
We really hope the campaign will get people talking & raise awareness. We hope it encourages parents & carers, teachers, coaches, health care professionals, anyone really to understand the sheer scale of this issue & how anyone can become affected. And the importance of arming themselves with the skills & knowledge to properly support a young person who may be struggling.
