Jools
Didn't get to celebrate his 15th birthday
My son Jools Sweeney didn't get to celebrate his 15th birthday. Jools was a really bright, smart, funny boy with lots of friends. He loved riding his bike, he loved gaming, he'd love going up the hill or sitting on the hill with all of his friends. He wasn't being bullied at school. He was just the most beautiful, affectionate, kind, loving son.
I hope this campaign will help change something somehow so that we can bring something positive out of the most horrific experience of my life , losing my child. I hope we can make something positive and stop young people taking their own lives.
Jools and I used to talk about everything; drugs, alcohol, girls, but we never spoke about suicide because it never crossed my mind. It never ever crossed my mind that he would end his life. I wish I just had that conversation even if he'd gone "no Mum of course I've never do that" but just to a start a conversation. Talking about suicide doesn't cause suicide.
