Didn't get to celebrate her 18th birthday
Our daughter Katy didn't get to her 17th birthday. Katy was a singer since she was 4 years old, she was creative and would push you to your limits to get what she wanted. She was bright, when she got on stage it was like a star singing there. I remeber when she wanted to go to a Taylor Swift concert, she found out Taylor had got herself a dress like a Pegacorn which is a unicorn with a Pegasus, and her dream was for Taylor to see her, but she thought if she was going as one, everyone else would be too. So she asked me as her father to go dressed like a Pegacorn too, and I remeber the day I tried in that outfit it wa small, and tight, I couldn't go to the bathroom or anything. But i got to spend the best day of my life just singing with her, with Katy, and enjoying that beautiful moment both dressed up as a Pegacorn all because she wanted Taylor to see her.
I hope with this campaign, you know that talking about suicide is not putting the ideas into the mind of anyone. it's opening the door for someone to talk about their pain, and what they're feeling, and to feel supported. And to know that we can prevent suicide together. When you talk about suicide you open the door for hope, you're planting the seeds for life in someone else, don't be afraid to talk about suicide. If you learn to do so, you'll become an oasis in the lives of others.
