Kelly was a kind-hearted, happy girl. She was family-oriented and would do anything for anyone.
Life has been hard since we lost her. For those left behind, losing someone to suicide really turns your whole world upside down. Significant dates like birthdays are hard - especially the first one without them.
Things do get easier to manage over time and you learn to celebrate milestones again as a good memory. With the help and support of those around you, as well as professionals, you can make it through.
I’d like this campaign to help more people realise that mental health struggles can affect anyone. We remember Kelly with her legacy - a charity set up in her name to offer free mental health support and counselling.
Please, when you look at these balloons, remember that suicide can touch anyone’s life. Appreciate the people and the moments you have, and reach out to anyone who you think is struggling.
