Will
Didn't get to celebrate his 21st birthday
My son Will was 20 when he died and didn't get to celebrate his 21st birthday.
He was a quiet, very easy going kind of person, and didn't let things rile him. He was passionate about standing up for the rights of pretty much anyone he thought was less fortunate than himself.
He was very intelligent and he read a lot of different types of books, an eclectic mix. He was the first person you'd want on your quiz team. He loved music as well, but especially loved live music and loved going to Glastonbury, and each year when the tickets released I could see him sitting at the table with as many laptops as he could get hold of and his phone just to make sure he'd got the best chance.
I hope this campaign acheives an understanding of the fact that suicide doesn't discriminate, and can happen to anyone. I really hope it gives young people and those that care for them the courage to use the word suicide - to talk about how they feel even when it feels difficult and feels uncomfortable, and to use the word and have the courage to say how they feel even if they don't understand what those feelings are.
