August 2025 - Danny Jones and over 150 fellow supporters have completed the inaugural ‘Trek For Tomorrow’ on Sunday - and raised over £115,000 for suicide prevention charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
The ‘Trek For Tomorrow’ team walked 30km across the Peak District to ensure CALM is there to help more people face the future, one step at a time.
The event took place on Sunday 7th September, ahead of World Suicide Prevention Day (10th September), with a huge fundraiser for CALM’s life-saving helpline and wider work.
Speaking at the finish line, Danny Jones said: “Walking the Peak District with survivors of suicide, those who have been directly affected by suicide, and fellow supporters of CALM’s amazing work has shown again how important it is to smash the stigma - and talk.
“With 1 in 4 people in the UK experiencing suicidal thoughts, conversations and community have such power. ‘Trek for Tomorrow’ has been a great example of just that. I’m hugely grateful we’ve been able to raise such a brilliant amount for CALM’s life-saving services.”
The money raised will help fund CALM’s services, including our life-saving helpline. Staffed by trained professionals, CALM’s helpline is a unique interventionist service that helps people in suicidal crisis. It costs the charity £12.20 to fund each phone call, which is free to access for anyone who needs it.
Simon Gunning, CEO of CALM, said: “We never cease to be amazed by the limits to which people will go for CALM. For years now, people have been trekking, running, walking, naked cycling - you name it, they’ve probably done it - to raise money for suicide prevention.
“‘Trek for Tomorrow’ was developed as an opportunity for people to rally together, push themselves and find a new supportive network along the way. We’re incredibly grateful to our brilliant Ambassador Danny for bringing this beautiful thing into the world. We can’t wait to do it all over again.”
