January can sometimes feel like it arrives with more of a fizzle than a bang and the last stretch of winter is a slog. If you’re looking for some get-up-and-go, or just need something to take your mind off the dreary weather, why not do something to support CALM?
Since the first lockdown, our helpline has answered over a million minutes of potentially life-saving calls and chats. We’re needed now more than ever. So it doesn’t matter if your challenge is big or small, or whether you raise five or five hundred pounds, #TeamCALM’s dedication and passion makes it possible to answer those calls.
Don’t worry, we won’t make you give up something you love, or run a million miles – there are loads of ways you can support us (even from your sofa). Whether you take on an epic challenge, volunteer at our epic events, or just shout about us to your mates, here’s some ways you can get involved.
Stick it to Winter
We love those big meaty challenges – the marathons, triathlons and swimathons, but we’re just as keen for the off-the-wall ones. Shave your head, wear a false nose for a week, or see how many hot dogs you can eat in a minute, whatever you do, do it for CALM.
We want to hear how you’re planning to #StickItToWinter, so share what you’re up to on social media and get involved. Find out more on how to get involved here.
Take on a challenge for CALM
Fancy a challenge, or want to remember a loved one? Whether you run or cycle, skydive or score goals, there are heaps of ways to get involved and loads of inspiration on stuff you can do here. Pull on a CALM tee and run beachside in the Brighton Marathon, sign up to a 5k or take part in the Superhero Series. Keep your eyes on this page for upcoming events and we’ll be there to cheer you on from the sidelines.
If you’re feeling sociable or want an excuse to meet new faces, the CALM collectives are a top way to get stuck into a community of enthusiastic supporters. Whether you’re into running, football, art, or want to roll up your sleeves and start your own – collectives are a great way to do something against living miserably.
