You’re doing an incredible thing by fundraising for CALM. But there are a few important rules to follow to keep everything above board.

If you’re raising money in CALM’s name, it’s your responsibility to stick to the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice and CALM’s fundraising terms and conditions. It’s all about making sure fundraising is safe, legal, and respectful for you, for CALM, and the people who donate.

A few top tips to keep in mind:

- Be honest and transparent about what you're doing and where the money's going.

- Don’t do anything risky or illegal in CALM’s name. That includes anything that could harm people’s safety, break platform rules, or land you in legal bother.

- If you're doing a raffle, competition or prize draw — make sure it’s a free prize draw or meets the gambling guidelines.

If in doubt, give us a shout. We’re here to help you raise funds in the right way.

Whether you’re planning your normal stream with a sprinkling of CALM, or going for an all-out CALM fest, here are a few ideas to help you incorporate CALM into your stream and make sure your community gets behind your fundraising…

DRESS UP IN CALM GEAR - this year CALM Jingle Jam streamers will receive a CALM Christmas hat so it’s easier than ever to represent on stream!

MAKE THE CALM LOGO IN GAME - in Minecraft, paint, the Sims, or any other game (don’t forget to share the pics).

INCORPORATE CALM NUMBERS INTO YOUR CHALLENGES - can you reach 800,585,858 gold to represent the CALM helpline, or stream for 28,000 seconds (7.7 hours) for the number of calls we get each month?

TAKE ON THE ‘TELL A MATE’ CHALLENGE - when you reach a milestone, challenge yourself to tell 10 mates something you love about them. Make it even more powerful by challenging them to pass it on.

BRING IN A GUEST TO SHARE A MOMENT TOGETHER - whether it’s your mum, your mate or your mod, share a moment with someone close to you and get chatting about what really matters.

PLAY GAMES THAT ‘FEEL’ CALM - whatever CALM means to you, there’s a game for that! So go for something relaxing that creates space for talking, that big multiplayer hit with friends, or whatever CALM looks like to you!

KEEP CALM ON SCREEN - share a CALM video anytime you take a break, and/or incorporate our logo and numbers into your stream set up (you can download them all below)

MILESTONES

Celebrate how much you’re raising by planning a celebration for key fundraising milestones.

You could make it funny and wax a limb when you reach £420, or schedule a dance for every £69 you raise.

Keep it simple by bringing your pet on stream for every £100, or promising a future stream when you hit your target, the choice is yours to incentivise and celebrate your community!

How to add milestones to your page

INCENTIVES

Motivate your community by offering them something when they donate a specified amount.

For example you could do 5 star jumps for every £5, offer each donor a joke or compliment, enter £10 donors into a raffle for something awesome, or even cover yourself in stickers with one for each £12.20 donation (bonus points if they’re CALM or have the donor’s name on).

How to set-up donation rewards

POLLS

Put the power in the hands of your community by setting up a donation poll to decide what you do on-stream. It could result in a different hairstyle, in-game decision, or a forfeit like consuming some 'delicious' food.

DONATION DRIVES

Challenge your community to help you raise vital funds. You could eat a BeanBoozled if you reach 50 donations in the next hour, or challenge everyone to donate a quid at a set time and see how many CALM calls you could fund.

Give your community access to the unrivalled Jingle Jam Games Collection: tonnes of game keys and exclusive discounts for a single £35 donation. Rewards are limited to the first 100,000 eligible donations during Jingle Jam - so don’t hang about!

Our life-saving helpline is only for people in the UK who are affected by suicide or suicidal thoughts. It’s free, anonymous and open from 5pm to midnight every day.

It's always great to have a target to aim for and a handy reference of what a donation can do. Take a look below at some of our key figures and think of how these could be used to encourage donations throughout your stream.

Use a Chatbot on your stream to direct your viewers to your fundraising page and let them know what CALM's all about. Here are a few examples of messages you could set up:

!AboutCALM: 125 lives are lost every week to suicide. Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) exists to change this. They do this by provoking conversation, running life-saving services, and bringing people together so they reject living miserably, get help when they need it and don’t die by suicide.

!Donate: Help me raise money to stand against suicide and help more people decide to stay. You can donate here [Fundraising Page URL]. Legend!

!Impact: CALM get 28,000 calls to our helpline every month. Demand has gone up by 74% since 2020 and it's still rising. No one should have to struggle alone. Every penny you donate could fund a potentially life-saving call.

!JingleJam: Donate £35 or more to support CALM and get access to the Jingle Jam Games Collection - an epic collection of game keys! Donate here: [Fundraising Page URL].
