There’s always help out there

If someone tells you they’re feeling suicidal it will be a lot to take on. It’s really important to remember you don’t have to have all the answers. If someone you know is struggling, the best thing to do is let them know they can always speak to an expert and that help and support is available right now if they need it.

They may believe they can’t be helped or that they don't deserve help. But emphasise that there IS help there for them right now, and things WILL get better.

• Tell them to ask for an emergency appointment and to call 111 out of hours – they will help you find the support and help you need.
