DISAPPOINTMAN: Eye Contact In Awkwardian Times

“It’s amazing the kind of things you find lying on the ground as you walk down the street. Cigarette butts, bits of half eaten kebabs, leaves… they provide ample distraction when one finds their attempt at eye contact has failed. Many a time have I found that the ground has exerted its power over my eyes, drawing them away from someone else’s eyes to the variety of objects that lay by my feet. I am slowly trying to ween myself off the floor, limiting the temptations it holds to just twice a day.”
