Ambassador’s reception: DJ Q

For the uninitiated, DJ Q, is a Huddersfield born DJ, a regular fixture on BBC Radio 1Xtra and has his own show on Ministry of Sound Radio. Teamed with MC Bonez, he is also known for his commercial single, You Wot!  As one of our newer ambassadorial recruits, we wanted to find out more…

So Why CALM?

I think CALM is a really good cause. The statistics for suicide amongst young men is shocking. It’s great that CALM is helping to raise awareness of the problem

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

My grandma always used to say to me “Always treat people how you want them to treat you”

What is your one ‘lifesaver’ track guaranteed to make you feel better when things get tough?

Has to be Nitelife by Kim English. No matter what mood i’m in, this song always brings a smile to my face.

What is your one rule for living life?

My one rule for life has to be ‘Don’t sit around and wait for it to come. Go out and get it!’
